Changes are coming to the St. Clair County Transit District Flyer service. As of April 7, all six microtransit Mobility on Demand (MOD) zones provided by the St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) Flyer including Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, East St. Louis, Fairmont City, Brooklyn, and Mascoutah/Lebanon/Summerfield/O’Fallon zone will now utilize the Via SCCTD Flyer app.
The SCCTD Flyer is a flexible, on-demand, shared-ride service offered at a fraction of the cost of other popular ride-hailing services. It provides access to and from six area Mobility on Demand zones with access to six MetroLink stations, helping to eliminate the need to walk – sometimes long distances – to gain access to public transportation. The SCCTD Flyer can also be utilized in within the six demand zones to get directly to other destinations – including homes, workplaces, schools, healthcare facilities, shopping establishments and entertainment venues.
A ride can be scheduled by calling (618) 800-6884 or using the Via SCCTD Flyer app, which provides an estimated pick-up time, real-time ride tracking and an alert in advance of arrival.
Service times vary depending on the service zone. The cost is $1 per one-way trip to or from Metro Transit Centers. Trips to other destinations within a Mobility on Demand (MOD) Zone are $3 per one-way trip. Those with a SCCTD Senior Pass or Benefit Access Pass (BAP) can go anywhere within the available service areas for $1 per one-way trip.
Fare can be purchased through the Via SCCTD Flyer app, at Ticket Vending Machines at Metro Transit Centers in Illinois or the Gateway Market (2511 State Street, 62205) or Neighbors Marketplace (1001 N. 15t Street, 62205). No cash fares are accepted.
