Ticketing Changes for 2019 Red Bird Express Season

St. Clair County Transit District Adds Mobile Ticketing and Onsite Ticket Sales for 2019 Season

St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) is excited to announce enhanced ticketing options for the 2019 Red Bird Express. The 2018 Red Bird Express season saw record ridership, and SCCTD will be enhancing ticket purchase choices to continue to build ridership on the system.  Beginning with the April 4, 2019 Opening Day game against the San Diego Padres, Red Bird Express customers will be able to purchase their tickets through a mobile application through a partnership with Token Transit or in person through a vendor kiosk at St. Clair Square.

“This program has always been popular with our Cardinals fans.  It is so easy to get to Ball Park Village early enough to enjoy a meal before the game, and the bus will be there, right where you left it, after the game. This year we want to make sure we are enhancing our ticketing options.  A mobile app will allow riders to purchase tickets from their own home using a credit card.  We will also offer onsite sales for tickets at an actual vendor kiosk in the St. Clair Square parking lot.  Getting people to the places they want and need to go is always the goal, and SCCTD can take them there. Not to mention the economic impact we are having on St. Clair County, IL including at St. Clair Square and the City of St. Louis,” said Chairman of St. Clair County Transit District Board Herb Simmons.

Parking in Downtown St. Louis for games can range from $15-40 or more. In addition, St. Clair County Transit takes the stress out of game day traffic, bridge construction, parking, gas expenses and more, by allowing game-goers to sit back and enjoy the ride to and from the game. Tickets will be required either through onsite purchase at the Metro ticket kiosk at St. Clair Square (cash only) or through the Token Transit mobile app.

More information on the mobile app is available at tokentransit.com/app or at www.scctd.org.
