Week Day Transit Service Will Resume in St. Clair County

Metro Transit will resume regular Weekday, Sunday and Saturday service in St. Clair County on all current routes as of August 31, 2020.  Transit service was reduced on March 23, 2020 due to COVID-19 and related operator shortages. All routes impacted by those reductions will resume except for areas where the St. Clair County Transit District has instituted new service options.

New service options that St. Clair County Transit District has implemented include:

  • SCCTD Flyer on-demand service replaced the #7 Fairmont City MetroBus;
  • ATS now serves the #21 and 21X Scott AFB Main and East Base routes; and
  • The #2X Waterloo-Columbia has been replaced by the Randolph Madison Transit District route (MRTD Express).

“We are happy to see the return of regular service to St. Clair County for our residents and visitors.  While the last six months have proven challenging for many, it has underscored the essential nature of transit to our community.   We look forward to providing service that provides improved access to jobs, healthcare and education in our communities,” said Herb Simmons, Chair of the St. Clair County Transit District Board of Trustees.
