Testing Begins on MetroLink Extension to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport

Testing is underway on the 5.2-mile MetroLink extension from the Shiloh-Scott Transit Center to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport which will further expand the region’s safe, integrated public transit system. It will feature a new MetroLink station at 9660 Airport Boulevard, in Mascoutah, Ill., directly across from the passenger terminal, improved roadway links providing more direct access to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, and a 4.3-mile expansion of St. Clair County Transit’s ever-evolving MetroBikeLink System of trails. Testing is a critical and required component of the construction process and is estimated to up to 4 months.  The extension is estimated to be opened by Fall 2026.
