St. Clair County Transit District & Partners Honored with Outstanding Local Government Achievement Award

The St. Clair County Transit District and its partners were honored at the 58th Annual East-West Gateway Council of Governments Awards Luncheon on November 15th at America’s Center in downtown St. Louis. A variety of individuals, agencies, and organizations were celebrated for their contributions to various communities in the St. Louis area.

The St. Clair County Transit District received the Outstanding Local Government Achievement (OLGA) award for their work on the new Public Safety Center at Emerson Park Transit Center in partnership with Bi-State Development, Metro Transit, and the St. Clair County 9-1-1 ETSB.

The Public Safety Center at Emerson Park will provide office space for St. Clair County Sheriff deputies and the St. Clair County Transit District, as well as serve as a backup to the Metro Transit Operations Control Center. Providing a central location for these public safety partners will ensure increased communication and security collaboration. Enhanced amenities at the site for transit riders will include public restrooms.

Construction at the site is ongoing, with the Public Safety Center at Emerson Park Transit Center expected to be opened in early 2024.
