St. Clair County Transit District Partners Delivers Amenities for Riders at 22 Stops
Transit riders are a top priority in St. Clair County. The St Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) announced a partnership with Bi-State Development to install bus shelters at 22 existing bus stops in the County for the convenience, comfort, and safety of riders. SCCTD will provide the required local match of $104,000 for $416,000 in federal funds to ensure these amenities come to fruition.
SCCTD has been focusing over the last several years on not only providing quality service but also amenities for riders including a partnership with Citizens for Modern Transit and AARP in St. Louis to transform four MetroLink Stations, one bus stop in East St. Louis, and now a bus bench program.
The stops currently being planned for improvements include the following:
