Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT), St. Clair County Transit District, and AARP St. Louis are working to activate the space around the MetroBus area at the Emerson Park MetroLink Station in East St. Louis. This joint initiative, known as the “Transit Stop Transformation Project,” will transform the area between the MetroBus boarding area and the entrance to MetroLink – into a fun, artistic space that encourages active play, cultivates community, and increases transit use.
CMT is currently seeking a design collaborator to assist with the project this winter and has just released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for community-engaged design collaborator/artist/creative person . The project seeks qualifications for designers, artists, and inter-disciplinary teams to engage and work collaboratively with the residents and community stakeholders of East St. Louis for the design and development of a site specific project as a part of the Emerson Park MetroLink site. The design collaborator will be a critical part of the project team.
