Redbird Bus Service Now Available
As Cardinals fans continue to flock the streets of downtown St. Louis for the 2026 baseball season, St. Clair County Transit District is teaming up with Vandalia Bus Lines, Inc., to offer another safe, convenient and affordable way for St. Louis Cardinals fans in the Metro East to get to Busch Stadium. The Redbird Bus service is available for all Friday and Saturday home games starting Friday, April 10. A round-trip ticket is available for people of all ages for $10 per rider. All transactions will be processed electronically. No cash will be accepted. Space is limited and service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Traffic congestion, high parking fees and long-distance walks from the more affordable parking lots are commonly associated with getting to and from sporting events in downtown St. Louis – but, that doesn’t have to be the case,” commented St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern. “The Redbird Bus service offers a safe and hassle-free means for local residents to get to and from St. Louis Cardinals games. It also serves as a great way to introduce new riders to public transit.”
The Redbird Bus service boards along the first block of West A Street between North Illinois Street and North 1st Street in Belleville, where adjacent public parking is available. It drops passengers off at the corner of Clark Avenue and South Broadway in downtown St. Louis, just steps from Busch Stadium Gates 5 and 6. Buses leave Belleville 60 to 90 minutes before gametime, as each one nears capacity. The first pitch is at 7:15 p.m. on April 10, therefore buses will depart between 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. After the game, riders can reboard the Redbird Bus on Clark Avenue between South Broadway and 4th Street. The first departure is made when the bus is full, with service continuing up to 45 minutes after the official end of the game. All buses are wheelchair lift equipped.
The Redbird Bus service is available on all Fridays and Saturdays, with a minimum of two coach buses per game. A complete list of service dates and departure times is available here. MetroLink is another convenient option for St. Louis Cardinals home games. If buses reach capacity, riders will be encouraged to use the Belleville Transit Center, located one mile away at 718 Scheel Street. The site offers free parking and restrooms, and—like all 11 Illinois MetroLink stations—provides direct service to Busch Stadium via the Stadium Station across from Gate 3. A roundtrip ticket on MetroLink is $5 per adult. Adult fares apply to people 13 years of age and older. Children 4 years of age and younger ride free. Reduced fares are available to children aged 5 through 12, seniors over 65 years of age and disabled persons with proper identification.
