MetroBikeLink Trail Closure Notice: Sections of Trail to be Closed Sept. 15 – Oct. 3
The St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) is announcing periodic closures of the MetroBikeLink Trail for necessary crack-sealing and sealcoating. These closures are critical to ensure the safety and longevity of the trail for all users. Please see Attached Exhibits for affected areas.
Closure Details:
- Location: MetroBikeLink Trail – Greenmount to Shiloh Station, OCR/St. Ellen
- Duration: Intermittent closures starting Monday September 15, 2025, and continuing through Friday, October 3rd.
- Times: Trail closures for cleaning and sealing of cracks will occur periodically during construction hours from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays.
Permanent Closures & Dates TBD:
Please note that permanent closure of the MetroBikeLink Trail on the afore-mentioned sections will occur while the trail is being oiled, between the afore-mentioned dates.
Why the Closures Are Necessary:
The maintenance work involves crack-sealing and sealcoating to enhance the overall trail experience for walkers, bikers, and runners. SCCTD is committed to maintaining the high standards of this community asset, ensuring its continued safety and usability.
Alternative Routes:
We encourage trail users to plan their routes accordingly. SCCTD highly recommends the avoidance of contact with freshly crack-sealed or seal coated areas. During closure, sections of the trail will be inaccessible on the Orchard Loop and Shiloh Station sections, but all other sections of the MetroBikeLink Trail will remain open for use.
