Join SCCTD at Pop-Up Events to talk MetroBus in IL

St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) is conducting an in-depth review of the existing transit network through a study called SCCTD Transit Vision 2020. The purpose of the study is to identify what is and is not working well, where service is and is not needed, and ultimately, how SCCTD can better serve the region.

Through SCCTD Transit Vision  2020, SCCTD hopes to:

  • Better understand how we can best serve our existing and potential customers, and further define transit’s role in regional mobility and economic development.
  • Increase ridership through improved design and operation of public transit in St. Clair County and the surrounding metro area.
  • Establish a framework for making decisions about existing and future transit service.
  • Develop closer links between SCCTD and the community that builds advocacy and ownership.

To accomplish this, SCCTD will be holding Pop-Up Sessions along on the system on the following dates.  Stop by and weigh in on MetroBus in IL.

  • August 27, 2019 – SWIC Station Pop-Up – 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm
  • August 29, 2019 – Belleville Transit Center Pop-Up – 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm
  • September 5, 2019 – Emerson Park Pop-Up – 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm

SCCTD is committed to ensuring a safe, effective and efficient transit system.   Earlier this year, the SCCTD Board approved a contract with Transportation Management Design, Inc. (TMD) to conduct a comprehensive 9 month analysis of the 18 fixed bus routes.   The Transit Vision 2020 Kickoff was held on Wednesday, July 24 at the East St. Louis Township Clyde C. Jordan Senior Citizen Center.
