Former St. Clair County Transit District Chair Remembered

Delores Lysakowski, the former St. Clair County Transit District Chair, passed away on July 19, 2026.  Delores served 35 years as the chairperson of the St. Clair County Transit District until she retired in 2018. She was instrumental in organizing both the REDBIRD EXPRESS and the MUNY EXPRESS, two highly successful services that served the metro-east communities.

“Delores exemplified what it means to be a public servant.  We are grateful to her dedication to the Transit District and her community.   Her leadership will not be forgotten,” said Ken Sharkey, Managing Director of the St. Clair County Transit District.
