East St. Louis Back To School Event Set for Aug. 3 at Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center

The East St. Louis Annual Back to School Event is set for Saturday, Aug. 3 from 11 – 2 p.m. at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center, accessible via MetroLink.   The event is hosted by the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation and sponsored by Focusonthecity.org and Molina Healthcare.   The event includes giveaways of clear backpacks and regular backpacks, books, clothing and sporting goods.   Child must be present to receive a backpack.   Backpacks donated in honor of former St. Clair County Transit District Trustee Toni Perrin and Alonzo Perrin.
