The St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) MetroBikeLink Trail will be the backdrop for the 2020 Eckert’s Blackberry Bolt 5K Run/Walk this spring. The SCCTD MetroBikeLink Trail is a multipurpose trail system that includes trails and bike paths along MetroLink in Southwestern Illinois. The trail system is part of SCCTD focus and commitment to link transportation modes in the community.
Eckert’s Belleville Farm plans to utilize the SCCTD MetroBikeLink Tail’s close proximity and accessibility to create fun and family-friendly events like their upcoming Blackberry Bold 5k Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run.
“Events like this highlight the importance and impact of our work to continue to expand the MetroBikeLink Trail, providing multimodal options in St. Clair County. This stretch of the trail is brand new, and the community is eager and ready to use the system, even before the second phase has been completed,” said Herb Simmons, Chair of St. Clair County Transit District Board.
“We love seeing the public and local businesses embracing our work. We are happy to bring more connectivity and options for the public to move through our great county with us,” said Simmons.
