SCCTD Day at the Ballpark Created a Sea of Red at Fairview Heights Station

St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) Day at the Ballpark created a sea of red at the Fairview Heights Station.  With nearly 150 Red Bird fans in attendance, ticket holders received a delicious hot plate of BBQ from Big Fellas BBQ at the Fairview Heights MetroLink Park/Ride lot before the game on September 16th.  SCCTD staff, ambassadors, and board members were all present to greet guests as they arrived.

Guests boarded the MetroLink (with provided fare) to head to the game at their leisure.  Once they arrived at the stadium, the left-field porch seats offered the convenience of nearby restrooms and refreshment stands, along with overhead fans, plush couches, and other comfortable areas to congregate.  This area of the ballpark is home to an oversized Molina bobblehead, perfect for selfies.

Despite the high temperatures, the cool atmosphere, great seats and winning game made for a wonderful evening.  MetroLink trains were running at peak capacity to whisk game goers back to their homes quickly and comfortably.  Riders were greeted by new and brighter LED lights, recently installed at the Fairview Heights MetroLink station when they returned.

Notable guests included SCCTD Board members including Herb Simmons, Lonnie Mosely, and George Markezich.  Michael Buehlhorn, Challenge Unlimited, and other non-profits were also present.  The Cardinals were victorious over the Nationals 4-2.
